Today is Malaysia's 45th Independence Day, and you know what that means, holiday!! LOL....Ok. So, I woke up at around 7.30am. Dad just went out to eat breakfast. When he came back, my sister and my mom woke up, while I am busy at the computer ( I do this every Sat and Sun morning...wake up, pee, drink water and internet! ). Dad, on the other hand, was watching the Hari Merdeka Parade ( Hari Merdeka is independence day in Malay). So, we decided to take a morning walk at the park not far away from home. Mom didn't follow us because she wanted to complete the forgotten chore, that is washing the toilet. So, that leaves the three of us. 9.30am, back from the park and breakfast ( except for dad, who asked him to eat that early? :P ) . A quick bath and we left the house to Mid Valley Megamall. It has been said that Mid Valley Megamall is the biggest mall in Malaysia. At the lower ground floor , we first went to CarreFour (supermarket). Mommy bought stuff for my sister to bring back to UK. Me? Duh! I was busy looking for a tiger shirt for CW. I ran around the supermarket but to my disbelieve, not even a single pictured T-shirt @_@.
After having our stuff paid, we saw thisKorean and Japanese Food Fair . While waiting for dad to put the groceries away, we took a glance at these mee products. There were even some instant noodle samples to eat. Mom aways said " Don't eat them too often or your hair will drop off!". We then had lunch. Dad suggested having our lunch at the hotel (linked to the mall). He said that they were having a promotion on the buffet. To our disappointment, then promotion was over. Dispite that, I did take some pictures of the independence day emblem and the national flag . We went back to the mall and came to a restaurant called Esquire Kitchen. My, was it packed in there! Lucky for us, we manage to find a table for 4. We ordered Man Tous ( a type of plain bun that goes well with the dishes), fried vegetables, fried wan tan with sweet and sour dip , Zha Choi with minced pork ( zha choi is a type of vege soaked in chilli ), and the Kai Ding ( Paprika chicken). I ate like a hungry wolf :P (as I was hungry). Everybody praised and said that the fried wan tan was good while the paprika chicken was better. Those are some pros, but here's the con. The only con was the zha choi. It was too salty (ecker).
After lunch, its the quest for CW's tiger shirt. Sadly, all my attempts failed. I walked the whole shopping complex and didn't even find a tiger shirt X_X. Being disappointed, we went back home. Dad and sister were happy cuz they got a new pair of shoes.
7.00 pm, my sister went for a dinner with her friend. The rest of us had an exclusive dinner at the restaurant that had the best steaks in town, The Ship. I ate fresh, fried Australian scallops, mom ate some fried fish and chips ( the fish was a local one, not imported. So, its cheap) while dad shared his salad with mom. We had a great dinner there. Then, off I go again in search of CW's tiger shirt at another shopping complex called Atria. Again, I failed. I was totally bummed out and pooped walking all over to find it. In another sense, I was totally disappointed that shopping complexs here don't sell them. I guess i'll have to rely on the night markets at Chow Kit Road ;)
